Size and Fitting Guide
Bras
To measure your bra size, you will need to take 2 measurements:
1. Band size
Take a tape measure and measure around your ribcage, where the lower edge of your normal bra strap would go. Don't measure too high (near your shoulder blades) and make sure the fit is snug. Try to measure against your bare skin to get the most accurate measurement.
If your measurement is:
An even number: add 4 inches An odd number: add 5 inches
The number you get is your band size - this will be something like 32, 34, 36 etc.
2. Cup size
Measure again around the fullest part of your breasts. Don't let the tape measure fall down at the back - you want it to fit around you like a bra would. Its ok to have a bra on, but make sure it is well fitted, not padded if possible.
In this case you want the measurement to be fairly loose, unlike the band measurement which should be snug.
Take the band size number from above and subtract it from the cup size measurement.
If the difference is:
1" = A cup
2" = B cup
3" = C cup
4" = D cup
5" = DD cup
6" = E cup
* Most of our brands run true to size. However every time a new bra arrives, we try it on to test the fit. We do our best to include in the product's description a note if the sizing runs particularly big or small.
* Remember that if we don't have your size, you can often go up a band size and down a cup size. For example, 34B = 36A.
Sizing - Panties, Sleepwear & Loungewear
In general, our sizing is as follows:
Extra Small = Size 0-2 Small = Size 4-6 Medium = Size 8-10 Large = 12-14 Extra Large = 16-18
For European, Australian and UK products, select the size UP from the size you normally take. For example, if you are a dress size 10 in the US, you are a dress size 12 in these other countries. See the International Size Conversion section below for which brands are from these countries, and select your size based on this.
Again, if a product runs large or small, we will try to note that in the description.
If you have any questions about sizing, please don't hesitate to email info@silkybottom.com.
